Taking an extended trip outside of the country takes a lot of preparation and organization. Be prepared before you go with thorough, up-to-date research: current entry and exit requirements, permitted stay lengths, allowed items across borders, and necessary documentation.

Prepare your RV

When traveling during the off-season, we always recommend you travel with your RV winterized. This prevents freezing damage from unexpected temperature drops before reaching your warm destination, even in early fall.

Plan for home maintenance and security

When you're leaving home for an extended trip, consider a house sitter or a friend or neighbour that will check in periodically. Arrange yard maintenance if needed and consider remote-capable security systems. For extended absences, use Canada Post's Hold Mail service instead of collecting mail.
